Dallas made the Western Conference Final in each of the past two seasons. In those two playoff runs combined, Heiskanen led the Stars with 28:00 of average ice time and their defensemen with 28 points (seven goals, 21 assists) in 38 games. If he can get back up to speed, he can make Dallas even more dangerous.
Stars head coach Pete DeBoer announced Tuesday that Heiskanen would return to action for Game 4 against the Jets. The Stars activated the defenseman from long-term injured reserve a few hours later, prior to the 7:00 p.m. puck drop.
Miro Heiskanen returned from a 42-game absence, Mikael Granlund recorded a hat trick, and Jake Oettinger stopped 31 shots on Tuesday, as the Dallas Stars defeated the Winnipeg Jets 3-1, securing a 3-1 series lead over the NHL's top-seeded club in Round 2.
The Dallas Stars entered this season as a Stanley Cup contender, but some injuries put their championship hopes in question.
