That’s where the new Fantastic Four figures come in. When I sat down to unbox them and take a closer look at their finer details, my son noticed me playing with toys and wandered over to see what all the fuss was about. I expected him to play with them a little, ask about who they are, and then wander off again.
Considering that the MCU is an enormous amalgamation of timelines, where does Fantastic Four: The First Steps fit in it, exactly?
So yes, Doctor Doom does appear in First Steps. In the mid-credits scene, we jump four years into the future and see Sue Storm and her son Franklin reading together in their home in the Baxter Building.
Speaking of connections… During one of my recent fits of insomnia, I discovered a strange factoid that connects The Fantastic Four: First Steps with Saved by the Bell, at least an early version of the popular high school-centric sitcom many of us grew up watching. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since, and I have to talk it out.
The movie is the latest from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and marks the third “Fantastic Four” film adaptation since 2005.
