Microsoft is starting to comply with the UK’s Online Safety Act by prompting Xbox players to verify their age today. The prompts will be shown to Xbox players who indicate they’re over the age of 18 and will be shown when you sign into an Xbox account in the UK.

Xbox isn't the first platform to be affected by the UK's Online Safety Act. Reddit and Discord have also implemented new age verification systems to access 18+ content; however, gamers are already getting around Discord's tool by using Death Stranding 's photo mode.

Microsoft, the parent company of Xbox, ensures the protection of user personal data in the verification process will be safeguarded with industry-standard encryption.
