Delhi's air pollution remained in the ‘severe’ category for the fifth consecutive day on November 17, with 14 areas in the capital recording an Air Quality Index (AQI) above 400, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Delhi's air pollution woes continue to get worse with each day, as over 14 areas in the national capital recorded an AQI of over 400 on Sunday. Most of these areas that had ‘very poor’ air quality last week, have now fallen to the ‘severe’ zone, CPCB data showed.

Some other steps taken by the Delhi government include extra Metro trips, ban on construction work, dedicated shuttle buses for government employees and primary schools being shut.
