CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College football wide receiver Lewis Bond has broken a program record. The redshirt senior has surpassed the all-time receptions record with 201, breaking the former record that was held by wide receiver Zay Flowers (200).

No. 17 USC recorded a statement win with a 26-21 victory over No. 21 Iowa at home. The Trojans held the Hawkeyes scoreless in the second half and erased an early 21-7 deficit to move to 8-2 (6-1 Big Ten). USC was powered by another big performance from star wide receiver Makai Lemon, who finished with 10 catches for 153 yards and a touchdown.

No. 14 Georgia Tech averted a catastrophe when placekicker Aidan Birr’s 23-yard field goal attempt sailed through the uprights with 11 seconds remaining to give the Yellow Jackets a 36-34 victory over BC on Saturday night at Alumni Stadium.

The Eagles suffered their 10th straight loss on Saturday but held their own against the No. 14-ranked team in the nation in the AP Poll.

BC and UMass are a combined 1-19 this year, with the Eagles' only win coming against FCS Fordham. UMass's 10 losses include one vs. an FCS team, Bryant.

As we sometimes see in early November, there is often a "point spread streak reset" in front of the final few weeks. A good number of the longer (three or more) spread streaks ended last week, but if history repeats, by the time November concludes, those three, four and five-game spread streaks are likely to be more heavily populated.

The Eagles are allowing 431.7 yards per game and have surrendered 44 touchdowns, which ranks third-to-last in the nation.
