The vote comes after Mayor Quinton Lucas suspended Platt following a jury ruling in favor of a former employee who said Platt lied to the media.

Brian Platt joined six other former city managers who have been ousted by KansasCity Council. In fact, city managers are nearly as likely to be fired — or pressured to resign — as they are to leave on their own terms.

Kansas City will be looking for a new city manager. The city council voted unanimously to remove Brian Platt, who had been recently suspended.
