Delhi experienced a cool and foggy start to Sunday as the capital recorded a minimum temperature of 13°C, which is six notches above the season’s average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Delhiites could also expect smog or shallow to moderate fog in the morning and cloudy weather on Saurday, December 28.

The weather may remain dry on December 30 and 31 as well, IMD added, while issuing a warning for dense fog for tomorrow. As per ANI, the temperatures are expected to plunge to 9 degrees Celsius. The people of Kanpur have been struggling with the cold as they seek protection through bonfires.

North India, including Delhi, is expected to experience a chilly New Year with a significant drop in temperatures, according to the IMD. Cold wave conditions are predicted in regions including Jammu-Kashmir,

The Regional Meteorology Centre, New Delhi, predicted light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and shallow to moderate fog in the national capital.

The national capital on Tuesday night received light rains following which residents experienced a chilling morning with cloudy weather.

As intermittent rain continued in several parts of North India, the IMD has predicted a fall in the minimum temperature by 3-5 degrees Celsius in the next two days.
