West Michigan was filled with chants, signs and music on Saturday as thousands gathered to take part in a nationwide “No Kings” protest.

Protests organized by the "No Kings" Movement are scheduled to take place Saturday, June 14th across the U.S., including at Rosa Parks Circle in Grand Rapids.

Rallies are expected throughout metro Detroit and dozens of other cities in the state from Midland to Muskegon and Milan to Marquette.

Demonstrators plan to gather in downtown Grand Rapids on Saturday as part of the nationwide “No Kings” movement. The Grand Rapids Police Department said it's prepared for the large crowds and plans to keep both demonstrators and the public safe.

Thousands of Michigan residents attended protests in Grand Rapids, Charlevoix, Muskegon, Ferndale, Petoskey, and more than 50 other Michigan cities for No Kings protests, Saturday, June 14. No Kings was a nationwide day of defiance against President Donald Trump and his administration.

A number of "No Kings" rallies are planned for Saturday, with an emphasis on a nonviolent response to President Trump's administration. Among the rallies planned are a number in the Detroit area and throughout Michigan.

Rain is expected June 13-15, so Father's Day plans may have to be indoors. No Kings day events also could be impacted statewide.
