The country’s military said its latest strikes targeted the group’s infrastructure, while an Iran-backed militia in Iraq said it launched a drone intercepted near the Israeli port city of Eilat.

The military said Sunday that it killed Nabil Kaouk, the deputy head of Hezbollah's Central Council, in an airstrike the day before. There was no immediate comment from Hezbollah.

The bombings late Saturday were the latest in a week of stepped up attacks. A bombing on Friday assassinated Hassan Nasrallah, a stunning escalation in Israel’s campaign against the Iranian-backed group.
