Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem spoke about the government shutdown and handed out bonus checks to TSA officers who "served with exemplary service" at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Bush airport was one of the major airports facing canceled flights and drastic delays, with security lines stretching outside the building.

In a visit to Houston, Noem thanked the workers for stepping up and coming to work while the government shutdown was ongoing.

After the longest government shutdown in American history, Noem handed out bonuses to some agents who worked through the government shutdown.
