The US government has revoked hundreds of international student visas, including at least three campuses in San Diego, leaving many students in fear of being deported.

Officials with the University of Florida (UF) confirmed that eight students have had their visas revoked by the U.S. Department of State but did not provide any additional information. UF spokeswoman Cynthia Roldan confirmed the number of students with revoked visas had increased from the previously reported 4 to 8 to TV20 Friday afternoon.

Visas for students across the country were revoked by the Trump administration. Some of the students attended the University of Connecticut and Yale University, CT Insider reported. UConn sent a letter to the school community on Thursday in which it said it was proud of how it attracts students and faculty from around the world.

"We are deeply troubled by the escalation of immigration enforcement activity toward our international students."

Students attending schools across the state, from Weatherford to Stillwater, are finding out that their visas have been revoked.
