The union representing 45,000 striking U.S. dockworkers at East and Gulf coast ports says it has reached a deal to suspend their strike until January to provide time to negotiate a new contract. The International Longshoremen’s Association and the U.
The ILA extends master contract to Jan. 15, ending strike for now
On Oct. 3, the ILA released a statement that it had come to a tentative agreement with the United States Maritime Alliance Ltd. and will extend its six-year master agreement with the organization, which expired on Sept. 30, through Jan. 15, 2025 ,while the two parties return to the negotiating table.
