There is “credible evidence of abuse” at Fulham under the ownership of Mohamed Fayed, according to lawyers representing women who allege they were raped and sexually assaulted while working at his famous department store,

Mohamed al-Fayed’s son has said the multiple allegations of sexual abuse made against his late father have “thrown into question the loving memory I had of him”. The former Harrods owner has been accused of multiple rapes and sexual assaults by dozens of women, who claimed he preyed on young women working at the company.

Ongoing enquiries into allegations of sexual abuse against former Harrods chairman Mohamed Al Fayed have unearthed new testimony linked to Fulham FC. Al Fayed, who died aged 94 in August 2023, owned the club between 1997 and 2013.

Al-Fayed purchased Fulham in 1997, after their promotion to the old Division Two (now League One). He immediately announced his ambition to take the club to the Premier League within five years. Fulham were promoted to the lucrative top flight in 2001 and remained there until 2014.
