Oakland police investigated a shooting at Laney College that killed Laney College football legend near campus.

A beloved figure, coach John Beam was shot on the Laney College campus in Oakland on Thursday afternoon and died on Friday.

John Beam, a football coach featured in Netflix series "Last Chance U," has been hospitalized after he was shot at Laney College's campus in Oakland on Thursday, police said.
