Former President Jimmy Carter will be memorialized with a commemorative Forever stamp, issued by the United States Postal Service and released on Oct. 1.
The United States Postal Service announced on Thursday that it will issue a commemorative Forever stamp honoring former President Jimmy Carter. The postal service is planning to release the stamp for purchase on Oct.
“The 18th stamp in the Distinguished Americans series honors humanitarian Elie Wiesel (1928-2016), a survivor of Nazi concentration camps whose dozens of works bore witness to the Holocaust and whose resilience and compassion continue to be a source of inspiration,” a description for the stamp on the USPS website reads.
One stamp depicts Boston’s Old North Church as it appeared back in the 1770s, while the other depicts a “‘midnight rider’ on horseback in Colonial garb holding a lantern to light his way,” the postal service said.
