President Donald Trump is ousting Billy Long from his role as commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service just two months after he was confirmed to the position, three sources familiar told CNN.

U.S. President Donald Trump is removing Billy Long as the commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will temporarily serve as acting commissioner, a White House official and a source familiar with the matter said on Friday.

Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent will run the IRS on a temporary basis, becoming the seventh person to run the shrinking tax agency this year.
