Sigma's CEO says BF unofficially stands for 'beautiful foolishness,' a nod to Japanese tea ceremonies. Indeed, the camera leaves a lot of stuff out, including features enthusiasts may miss.

I've spent the past couple of days at Sigma headquarters and the Sigma factory in Japan, getting intimately acquainted with the new Sigma BF – perhaps the most beautiful camera I've ever seen, and one that challenges the way we approach photography.

The BF has 230GB of internal memory instead of any removable media cards and uses the USB slot to transfer data off the camera. Sigma says this is sufficient for 14,000 JPEGs, 4300 uncompressed DNG Raws or 2.5 hours of video shot in its highest quality settings.

Sigma has unveiled the Sigma BF, a new mirrorless offering that represents the brand’s uncompromising new vision for the digital camera.
