Jakob Chychrun scored twice during a second-period surge and the Washington Capitals raced past the Pittsburgh Penguins 8-3.

Off, Jakob Chychrun found the net twice and the Capitals scored two goals in eight seconds during an 8-3 rout in Pittsburgh.

Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang scored for the Penguins (23-26-9), who have lost three of four. Alex Nedeljkovic allowed five goals on 14 shots before being pulled in the second; Joel Blomqvist made 14 saves in relief.

The Penguins actually turned in an impressive, fairly sound, effort for 30 minutes, but then unraveled in the back half of the second period.
