NEW DELHI (Reuters) -The head of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Stephanie Pope, met the chairman of Air India on Monday in India, two sources said, as the companies seek to find the cause of last week's fatal crash involving a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Officials said they had found the cockpit voice recorder that may provide crucial clues about what caused the Air India flight to crash, killing at least 270 people.

The Air India flight fell from the sky on Thursday and killed at least 270 people in Gujarat state, officials said Saturday.

Colleagues of a beautician who was killed in the Air India plane crash have said she brought "kindness to every moment". Abdhi Patel, 40, was flying back to the UK after visiting her elderly mother when flight A1171 crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad on Thursday.

Air India's Chairman N. Chandrasekaran on Monday told staff that last week's plane crash that killed at least 271 people should be a catalyst to build a safer airline, urging employees to stay resolute amid any criticism.

As part of ongoing investigations, the plane’s black boxes are being analysed. A black box records flight data, and includes a cockpit voice recorder for pilot exchanges and cockpit sounds. It will also pick up engine sounds. Today (Monday 16th) it’s been reported the cockpit recordings have been found.
