The Z4 M40i is probably BMW’s most underappreciated car. I’ve personally spent several weeks in the Z4 and know it well; it’s one of the best-driving cars to wear a blue-and-white Roundel.
In that regard, the BMW Z4 M40i is surprisingly good. According to the EPA, it’ll do 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined with a stick shift. That bests both the Boxster and Corvette.
As we previously noted, BMW has offered a manual on the current two-seater since its 2019 launch, but only on the non-U.S. entry-level 20i model. We’ve been missing out on this side of the pond.
