MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Wednesday denied a CNN report that the CIA was carrying out deadly operations in Mexican territory, accusing the U.S.-based news organization of attempting to “hurt the government and the people of Mexico.”

After months of friction over the presence of U.S. intelligence personnel on Mexican soil, President Claudia Sheinbaum and the CIA found themselves on the same side of an explosive fight: both rejected a CNN report alleging that U.

“Let us hope this is an exceptional case ... and that a situation like this never happens again,” the Mexican president said.
