Florida State baseball completed a sweep of Boston College with a pair of wins in a doubleheader on Saturday, hitting five home runs in two games.

FSU baseball opened ACC play with a dominant 8-2 win over the Boston College Eagles. Drew Faurot led the way with two home runs.

The No. 4 Seminoles (15-1) are coming off a 7-2 defeat to rival No. 7 Florida on Tuesday. The Eagles (7-6) enter flying high, having beaten Merrimack College of Massachusetts 10-5 to follow an upset series win over No. 20 Virginia last weekend.

FSU started Joey Volini on Friday, allowing Jamie Arnold an extra day of rest after being scratched from his start last week. Volini struck out 11 in seven innings of work in his start last week. On Friday, he struck out eight and the Seminoles hit four home runs to win 8-2.

Boston College Baseball lost to the Florida State Seminoles yesterday via a final score of 2-8 in the team's first showdown of the season in Tallahassee. The Eagles only managed to scratch one run across in the fourth and ninth innings to seal the deal on a loss to begin the three-game series.

FSU originally planned on throwing ace Jamie Arnold on Friday, but he was a late scratch with a reported illness. Saturday starter Joey Volini was moved up a day to start on Friday. Game one against Lipscomb is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Dick Howser Stadium.
