With reference to Trump’s decision not to send any US representatives to the first G20 on African soil, Ramaphosa said “boycott politics never work. It’s always best to be inside the tent than outside of the tent. The tent is the G20. All countries are here.”
SEOUL (Reuters) -South Korean President Lee Jae Myung met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi during last weekend's Group of 20 summit in South Africa, Lee's office said in a statement on Monday.
The first G20 summit in Africa also broke with tradition Saturday by issuing a leaders' declaration on the opening day of the talks, when declarations usually come at the end of the summit.
Prime Minister Mark Carney’s visit to South Africa for the G20, which will include a meeting with the country’s president, comes as Canada prioritizes boosting trade with other continents and plans to scale back foreign aid.
