Comedian-commentator Jon Stewart is staying put in the anchor seat at The Daily Show. In an announcement by Comedy Central and parent company Paramount Global, Stewart’s contract has been extended for another year and now runs until December 2026,
“That’s what he was doing this weekend!” Stewart said. “He wasn’t working for the American people. That was just some ‘Hollywood Babylon’ shit that once and for all shows that Donald Trump doesn’t give fuck about even looking like he gives a fuck. Doesn’t give a fuck at all.”

The news was expected. Last week, at an event for the New Yorker, Stewart said he is “working on staying” with the Comedy Central late-night show. Stewart hosted the series (solo) from 1998 to 2015, and returned in 2024 as a sometimes-host and all-the-times EP.
