The Alabama Crimson Tide faced the LSU Tigers last Saturday and defeated them 20-9. The win brought the Tide to 8-1 on the season after losing their opening game to the Florida State Seminoles. Quarterback Ty Simpson finished the game with 277 yards and one touchdown on 21-of-35 passing.
LSU has lost four of its last five games. This time it was a 20-9 loss to Alabama, and these are the three most to blame.
Garrett Nussmeier has been benched in the second half against Alabama. It's unclear if he will return to the game.
With LSU trailing Alabama 17-6 midway through the third quarter, interim coach Frank Wilson removed Nussmeier and put sophomore Michael Van Buren Jr. under center, who finished the game and ended with 52 passing yards on 5-of-11 attempts.
Jonathan Austan Luna, 31, was booked into Tuscaloosa County Jail one one count of second-degree criminal trespassing. His friends posted his $500 bail.
