Thousands of teachers, education supporters and other protesters are marching through Downtown Raleigh in what‘s promoted as one of the biggest labor actions in the state’s history.

After getting on buses at 8am, educators with the FCEA have arrived at the May 1st Rally for schools.

Many marchers carried a variety of creative signs voicing concerns and outrage and the current state of education including issues of teacher pay and staffing.

Hundreds of people gathered in Portland’s South Park Blocks downtown Friday afternoon to draw attention to May Day, as rallies unfolded across the state and the nation.
