Workers in Estes Park, Fountain, two in Pueblo, and a Safeway distribution center in Denver, walked out on Sunday and were joined by employees from Castle Rock and the Littleton location on Mineral Ave on Monday.

The Safeway strike in Colorado is rolling out in bits and pieces. Workers in Grand Junction joined the picket line on Tuesday, temporarily shutting down the store. A spokesperson for Safeway said the store is expected to reopen by 4 p.m. today, including the pharmacy.

United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 announced Saturday that, unlike the February strike by King Soopers workers, the Safeway/Albertsons walkout will begin on a more limited scale.
