The ski area has announced a new ownership deal with a local Vermont company.

Smugglers' Notch has been owned and operated by Bill Stritzler for 29 years, but will now be under new ownership while the Stritzler family continues to guide the resort's future.

The new owners, Bear Den Partners, bought Burke Mountain Resort last year for $11.5 million. They say they want to maintain Smuggs' vibe.
