Toasted Monkey is a popular spot along St. Pete Beach, but now it looks completely different. There used to be a bar, walls, and tons of tables and chairs.

Live music is a fixture at popular spots like The Toasted Monkey, Jimmy B’s and the Postcard Inn. For local musician Mia Hartley, it’s part of what makes the beach community special.

But at the Toasted Monkey on St. Pete Beach, owner Matt Vario faces, not just the storm damage, but also what he sees as a wall of extra paperwork slowing him down.
