Arkansas has sued YouTube and its parent company Alphabet, saying the video-sharing platform is deliberately addictive and fueling a mental health crisis among youth.

The filing claims YouTube is particularly addictive and harmful to children and teenagers, who are exposed to harmful content, including material promoting violence, eating disorders, and self-harm.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- An effort to expand Arkansas' medical marijuana program fell short of the required signatures and won't qualify for the November ballot, Secretary of State John Thurston said Monday. Arkansans for Patient Access, the group behind the measure, said it planned to take legal action to appeal Thurston's decision.

A measure looking to further open medical marijuana access in Arkansas looks to now be off the November 2024 ballot.

The Arkansas Secretary of State said that the Arkansas Marijuana Amendment of 2024 proposal fell short of the signature requirement.
