According to investigators, the man was driving westbound on the highway near Evergreen Road at a high speed when he lost control of the motorcycle and hit a concrete wall.

The rider was pronounced dead on the scene and there were no other injuries or vehicles involved in the crash, authorities said.

The crash occurred on I-96 near Evergreen Road at 9:25 p.m. The Detroit Regional Communications Center received reports that a motorcycle was down on the freeway’s left shoulder, and its driver was missing,
