Brian Driscoll, who briefly served as acting director of the FBI in the early days of the second Trump administration, is being pushed out of the bureau, two sources familiar with the matter told CBS News.

A senior FBI official who briefly served as acting director at the beginning of President Donald Trump's second term has been fired, two federal law enforcement sources told NBC News.

In January, Driscoll was appointed acting director while Kash Patel's nomination was pending after the departure of Christopher Wray.
