Many Broadway fans were left disappointed after the revival of "Gypsy" canceled nearly an entire week of performances after actors say a cold spread among the cast.

The week between Christmas and New Year's typically yields big box office success on Broadway, with tourists flocking to New York City to see the biggest shows during their holiday vacations. But there was one ticket that was impossible to get last week: George C.

The revival of “Gypsy” canceled all scheduled performances on Dec. 23 as well as Dec. 25 through 28 (the Audra McDonald-starrer was already scheduled to be dark on Dec. 24). A total of seven performances were canceled due to illness within the company, according to the production’s social media accounts.

Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Monday's performance of Broadway's Gypsy was canceled because of illness among the musical's cast members. The show, which opened on Dec. 19, scrapped Monday's performance "due to multiple illnesses within the company," according to the show's producers.
