The Japanese city, on which America dropped the first atomic bomb near the end of World War II, is commemorating the anniversary as global conflicts fuel nuclear fears.

Hiroshima is marking the 80th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of the western Japanese city. Many aging survivors express frustration over growing global support for nuclear weapons as deterrence.
