Republican Jeff Hurd continued to lead Democrat Adam Frisch on Wednesday in a tight race to be the successor of outgoing Colorado 3rd Congressional District Rep. Lauren Boebert. As of about noon on Wednesday, Hurd had received about 50.04% of over 365,000 votes counted while Frisch received about 47.39%.

While Hurd will assume office in January, he has never held elected office. Previously, he was the U.S. Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel for the U.S. District Court of Colorado. During the race, Hurd prioritized border security, tax cuts, and energy independence.
