Earlier this week, the Twins announced that Max Kepler’s regular season is likely done. Kepler received a cortisone shot in his hip last week for an injury that has kept him out since the beginning of the month.

The Minnesota Twins have seen the last of Max Kepler this season, and likely for his career. Pitching reinforcements aren't back either.

Kepler went on the 10-day injured list on Sept. 5 because of left patellar tendinitis. As he tried to ramp up, he felt pain in his hip, which he believes was the “origin of all the issues” and he overcompensated with his knee. Kepler said his hip injury might require surgery in the offseason.

Tuesday, manager Rocco Baldelli said Kepler was unlikely to return during the regular season and even if the Twins make it to the playoffs, it sounds as if Kepler, who acknowledged he might need an offseason surgery for the issue, is not close to a return.
