The NASCAR Cup Series continues to trek west this weekend as the top stock car drivers get to battle the tricky turns of Phoenix Raceway in the Shriners Children’s 500.

It's race day! The fourth round of the NASCAR Cup Series is set to go ahead at Phoenix Raceway later today. William Byron will start the race from pole position followed by Joey Logano and Carson Hocevar. Reacting to securing the pole award, Byron explained:

The mile-long intermediate track is early in the NASCAR season, and it provides a strong test for the Cup Series’ top drivers.

The fourth NASCAR Cup race goes down in the desert on Sunday afternoon. Red-hot Christopher Bell is already seeking his third win of 2025, and he finished first on this track last year. He’s looking to become the event’s fourth repeat winner, joining Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon and Ryan Newman.

Joey Logano already had an affinity for Phoenix Raceway. The Team Penske driver had won on the mile oval three times, including the 2022 Cup Series title, and had 15 top-10 finishes in 31 races since 2009.

Joey Logano missed out on breaking a huge record after he lost the pole position to William Byron for the NASCAR Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix.

Daytona 500 winner William Byron's strong season continued Saturday when he won the pole at Phoenix Raceway. Byron, the points leader entering Sunday's race, earned his 14th career pole with a lap of 133.
