Update: Gifford Fire in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara County – containment reaches 15%
Gifford Fire initially started 3:44 p.m. Aug. 1 in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara County, California. It has burned 99,232 acres after being active for six days. A fire crew of 3,431 has been working on site and, as of Thursday evening, they managed to contain 15% of the fire. However, the cause is still under investigation.
