In announcing its deal with Microsoft, Constellation Energy, the owner of Three Mile Island Unit 1, also shared that the plant is getting a rebrand—the site will be renamed the Crane Clean Energy Center. (Not sure if that one’s going to stick.)

Microsoft has agreed to purchase Three Mile Island's energy to power its AI data centers for the next 20 years. It's the first time a U.S. nuclear reactor will come out of retirement.

Constellation Energy (NASDAQ: CEG) has been amongst the hottest stocks in the market in 2024, with its shares up 125%. Those aren’t the types of returns people usually associate with utility companies in such a short period of time.
