Some Northern California residents woke up to 3.6 magnitude earthquake Saturday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey. USGS said the earthquake struck around 8:30 a.m. in Walker. The area is about 100 miles east of Sacramento and 37 miles southeast from South Lake Tahoe.

An earthquake registering magnitude 4.2 shook part of central California early Sunday morning about two miles northwest of Aromas.
