Tennessee's high court has ruled that a death row inmate can be executed without deactivating his implanted defibrillator.

In 2021, Sherwood Brown, who spent 26 years on death row, was released from prison after charges against him were dismissed. He was convicted of a triple homicide in DeSoto County in 1995.
