The “NextGen Acela” is a key part of Amtrak’s plan to broadly modernize its fleet. This plan also includes the new “Amtrak Airo” trains to come to routes along the East Coast, more efficient long distance traveling and upgraded train interiors.

Amtrak's new high-speed NextGen Acela trains will soon begin operating between Boston, New York and Washington, D.C.

The trains will connect the Northeast corridor, making stops in Washington, D.C., New York and Boston, with destinations in between.
