Big Bear eagles Jackie and Shadow made it back to their nest after the Fourth of July fireworks display sent them away. The Friends of Big Bear Valley posted on their blog that the parents returned to one of their favorite trees on Sunday after flying away during the Fourth of July fireworks.

Big Bear’s famed bald eagle pair, Jackie and Shadow, have fled their nest after July 4th fireworks were set off in the area. The eagles have yet to return, according to the nonprofit Friends of the Big Bear Valley. It was reportedly the fifth time that’s happened in recent years.

After vacating the nest during Independence Day fireworks celebrations, Big Bear bald eagles Jackie and Shadow have returned home. Friends of Big Bear Valley (FOBBV), which operates a live
