The Teamsters union has reached a tentative deal on a new contract with the major studios on behalf of about 700 casting directors.

After failing to reach a new deal on Tuesday, casting directors and Hollywood studios are planning to continue negotiating this week ahead of a Sept. 30 contract expiration date. That’s according to a social media post from Teamsters Local 399,

The Teamsters have a tentative deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on a new casting agreement. Locals 399 and 817 made the announcement Friday, just ahead of the current contract’s expiration on 30.
