The state championship was the trophy Chicago Hope Academy's well-known coach Ronny Fields never won when he was one of the best high school basketball players in state history in the mid-90s.
Mayor Brandon Johnson on Thursday hosted student athletes from Hope Academy, as well as the Class 2A state champs Walter H. Dyett High School for the Arts.
