Actor Dean Cain, best known for playing Superman in the 1990s television series “Lois & Clark,” announced this week that he is joining U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in support of President Donald Trump’s renewed push to expand immigration enforcement.

The former ‘Superman’ actor recently criticized James Gunn’s adaptation after he said “Superman is the story of America … an immigrant that came from other places and populated the country.”

Both Superman and Cain have reentered the public eye in recent months. In July, “Superman” (2025) director James Gunn spoke about the Man of Steel’s immigrant origins, calling the story of Superman “ the story of America ,” and one of “basic human kindness.” Cain took offense to this framing.
