Voters reject Houston Independent School District's $4.4 billion bond
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Tuesday, Nov. 5, marks the final day when voters can decide on a pair of bonds proposed for the Houston Independent School District's $4.4 billion bond. The largest school bond in history was approved for the local November ballot and broken into two parts.
We asked 100 Houston voters about HISD's bond. Many said Mike Miles is why they're voting no.
The Chronicle surveyed more than 100 voters at eight different polling locations about how they voted on HISD's $4.4 billion bond. Most said they voted no.
Early Voting Indicates CRE-Backed $4.4B Houston ISD Bond Fails
Voters last approved an HISD bond in 2012, which was the largest school construction bond in Texas history at that time. That $1.9B bond helped repair and replace 40 schools across the district, including 29 high schools.
