Jacob deGrom struck out nine and allowed a leadoff homer in six solid innings, and Corey Seager, Marcus Semien and Adolis García homered as the Texas Rangers beat the Athletics 6-2.

While deGrom has deGrominated the rest of the league this year, the Angels, in two starts over a three-week span, have been the outlier. On Monday, in the Angels’ 6-4 win, Los Angeles pinned a season-high five runs on deGrom in 5⅓ innings that included a pair of homers.

Right-handed starting pitcher Jacob deGrom is in his 12th major-league season and third as a member of the Texas Rangers. The 37-year-old veteran originally debuted for the New York Mets in 2014 where he cemented himself as one of the game’s best young talents winning National League Rookie of the Year.
