The man suspected of killing a Minnesota lawmaker and wounding another has been taken into custody, bringing an end to a massive, nearly two-day search that put the entire state on edge.

In a hail of gunfire, former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were shot dead in their Brooklyn Park home.

The suspect, whom police identified as 57-year-old Vance Boelter, remains at large.

The search for the Minnesota suspect has entered its second day. The FBI announced a widespread manhunt on Saturday evening, offering a reward of up to $50k for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Vance L.

Vance Luther Boelter, 57, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing a Minnesota Democratic state lawmaker and her husband while posing as a police officer, Governor Tim Walz said.

Authorities say he also shot Sen. John Hoffman, a Democrat, and his wife, Yvette.
