The Recording Academy raised almost $9 million on Sunday (Feb. 2), the day of the 67th annual Grammy Awards, to aid in relief efforts related to the devastating wildfires that hit the Los Angeles area beginning on Jan.

Winston and Mason Jr. promise that the Grammys will still be the Grammys. In other words, the format is not shifting to a full telethon, but there will be moments of recognition like a special performance by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, the Recording Academy announced on Friday.

Grammys Awards ran nearly four hours and seemed freakishly redundant at times, it ultimately offered a successful chronicling of last year’s leading trends in music, setting a high bar for future ceremonies.

The Recording Academy and CBS' decision to turn the 67th Annual Grammy Awards into a fundraising event has paid off. Sunday night's awards show raised over $24 million for wildlife relief efforts as well as other charitable organizations.
